Details of Selected Projects:

Independent Consulting (since 8/2003)

Continental Guest Services/ISSG Served as architect and developer of a C#.Net/MSSQL n-tier client/server application that provides services such as dinner reservations and Broadway theater ticket sales to NY City tourists. The application has a graphically friendly kiosk interface that resides in over 20 of the largest hotels in the city as well as an efficient interface for CGS' inside phone sales staff. Recently I completed an interesting feature which is a facility to quickly and easily enter the complete seating layout of every venue in New York City from the smallest Off-Broadway theater to Giants Stadium.

Globicus Worked on reviving a large Coldfusion/MS SQL Server based website targeted to economists, strategists and stock analysts. The website generates thousands of graphs of economic indicators using a financial package named EcoWin. One of the original founders of the site was the Nobel Prize winning economist, Robert Mundell.

Various - Designed and built several websites including http://www.selenoclarke.com utilizing LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP).  Other URL’s available on request.

Ness (5/1992-8/2003)

Ness formerly PCSI and Blueflame – a Microsoft Solution Provider Partner, is a global project oriented consulting firm specializing in internet and database development.  Below is a list of the major projects that I have worked on.

Graduate Management Admissions Council – Developer (C#.Net, MSSQL).  GMAC creates and administrates the GMAT graduate exams as well as maintains resource sites for students and institutions interested in MBA programs.  I developed portions of the “Pathfinder” search engine program comparison feature for www.mba.com as well as data entry screens in www.gmac.com.

Major Pharmaceutical Company – Strategist/Analyst (various).  For a brief strategy engagement, I investigated the usage of non-keyword, context based, search engines for locating medical research articles.  I spent two months researching vendors and developing prototypes using InXight and Engenium search engines.

AT&T – Developer (Plumtree, ASP, Oracle).  Served as a developer on a team supporting a Plumtree portal serving 100,000 users.  I was responsible for building several Plumtree “gadgets”, writing routines to migrate data from one Plumtree instance to another, as well as served as the team’s DBA/Oracle expert.

Major Pharmaceutical Company – Tech Lead, Developer (Java iPlanet, PDA, AvantGo, Oracle). Served as Tech Lead for a large J2EE based intranet application for project tracking and document management for an Operations Research group of a fortune 100 pharmaceutical company. The system also includes a PDA application (Palm and PocketPC) that allows the users to have access to data extracts when traveling or while in high level meetings.

Major HMO – Tech Lead, Developer (ASP, Sybase, AvantGo). Designed and prototyped a PDA based patient management system.  The application is totally disconnected and is synchronization driven.  The system will ultimately be used by nurses and home healthcare aides who provide home based care and handle tasks such as: scheduling; reference info; messaging; and time management. It is also cross platform and will run on Palm, PocketPC, and RIM Blackberry devices.

BevAccess.com Wireless – Project Manager, Tech Lead, Developer (PDA, ASP, Web Clipping, Oracle).  BevAccess.com provides an online B2B exchange for the Beverage industry, providing an efficient and easy-to-use procurement process for buyers of wine, spirits, and beer.  The application gives a beverage distributor’s salesforce access to many functions of BevAccess’ live web site using a wireless Palm device including order processing, customer profiling, and order tracking.  http://www.bevaccess.com/

Transamerica Flood Hazard Certification System – Developer (Delphi, MS SQL, MapInfo). TFHC provides flood hazard certifications for the mortgage industry.  The Transflood system provides order processing capabilities to 300 users accessing a 150GB database and is linked into nearly every aspect of the client’s operations.  The database stores information for over 100 million properties in the US.  A particularly interesting part of the system that I developed was a facility to retrieve data stored in digital maps.  This system has received recognition from Inprise (formerly Borland) the makers of Delphi as well as Microsoft who has featured our system in advertisements and white papers.  http://www.transamerica.com/

American Cyanamid Corporation Sales Force Automation System – Tech Lead (Delphi, Oracle, Windows 95, MS Exchange, Distributed C/S system).  I was brought into the SFA project to serve as a C/S and Delphi mentor to the client’s programmers and to help in the development of a large system to support their national sales force.

The system has two primary user bases: The field sales force which has a remote version of the system running on laptops utilizing e-mail to send and receive updates; and an in-house telemarketing group which uses a LAN version to communicate directly to a 10GB Oracle database.  This project was one of the first and largest systems based on Delphi.  Other firsts for this project were the early adoption of Windows 95 and Microsoft Exchange, both having been used months prior to their official release. The system received an award from Microsoft for the most innovative use of Exchange prompting a visit from Steve Balmer, Microsoft’s President. http://www.ahp.com/cyanamid.htm

Borland/Inprise Corporation.  I represented PCSI and Borland at PCEXPO at New York’s Jacob Javitz Center at the Borland Booth to discuss Delphi Client/Server.  I presented to over 1200 developers about advanced database topics with Delphi. http://www.inprise.com/   Delphi is a development tool created on top of a fully object oriented version of Pascal that provides component based, visual development similar yet more powerful that Visual Basic.  Delphi’s component model served as the basis for Java Beans and its variant of Pascal is similar in power to C++.

I have also done presented at three Borland Conferences covering General Client/Server development and using Delphi with Oracle.  One conference was the European Developers Conference in Frankfurt, Germany. My US presentations had over 500 attendees in each session.  http://www.eyuck.com/borcon.htm

Warner Wellcome GOALS System – Tech Lead (Oracle & Access).  This system performed a detailed analysis of the client’s sales of over the counter products (several billion dollars worth).  This was the first Client/Server system for the fortune 100 company and used a Windows front end programmed in Access and an Oracle server.  I served as the Oracle and C/S expert. http://www.warner-lambert.com/

ACORD Corporation Order Processing system - Developer (Paradox 4, SQL server 4.2, Netware 3.11). National League for Nursing CAT Pharmacology (Paradox 3.5): CAT is a computerized nursing exam that the client sells as a product to nursing schools. It used a new concept in the science of testing that allows for the exam to adapt to the student’s responses and determine a more accurate measure of their knowledge.  I handled all aspects of developing this product from development, coordinating beta testing, and writing installation software. http://www.nln.org/

National League for Nursing Test Construction system.  This system provided a workstation for creating exams by piecing together questions stored in a database.  The resulting exams, many of which were for certification purposes, have been taken by nurses around the world.
