Senior Project Manger

 

Cushman Wakefield is the largest private real estate services firm in the world with offices in over 50 countries. I serve as the IT project manager for the systems used by C&W's Valuation and Advisory division.  I manage numerous production systems, internal and external teams, both onshore and off, and a capital budget over $1.5M annually.

 

My largest projects have been for our Valuation and Advisory group, one of C&W's most profitable divisions.  V&A revenue is over $200M per year and my systems are integral to the appraisal of hundreds of billions of dollars of commercial property each year. Major systems include:

  • Appraisal Document Assembly system.  Valuation considers this groundbreaking project a key differentiator in their industry.  It automates many aspects of the workflow, data gathering, writing, formatting, QC, and delivery of 20,000 100+ page reports per year, using templates, document automation, 3rd party integration, and data interchange standards.  The primary ROI for this system is that time saved creating an appraisal is additional profit for the appraiser and the company.  Further, providing more automation allows higher quality and uniformity which reduce QA cycles that each report must go through as well as overall customer satisfaction.  This system uses MS Word XML, SharePoint, SQL2005, C#.Net, webservices, Bing Maps, and Office SmartDocs as its core toolsets.  Our SharePoint database for this system contains over 700GB of data.   This system has been in production since 2004.  Plans are underway to rewrite this package using Office 2010 features such as content controls and openXML.
  • JobCenter.  This system processes the work flow and billing for all appraisals done by Valuation.  It is live in EMEA, APAC, and US and soon will be fully global.  This system was built using Microsoft C#.Net 4, LINQ, SQL 2008 R2, Reporting Services, SQL and Web clustering, and MS App Fabric.  It is C&W’s first truly global system and supports approximately 700 users in 98 offices.  This system has been submitted to Infoworld by my management for a case study.
  • MapBuilder.  This fun to build application allows our users to quickly create presentation ready digital maps using Bing Enterprise webservices.  It adds a drawing layer on top of the bing maps for creating labels and annotation, highlighting regions, placing various markers, and legends.  It also ensures that the valuation professionals use images that follow their strict guidelines and standards.  

 

In addition to the above projects, my team builds and supports various systems for tracking property sales comparables, analyzing demographics, communicating with our customers, collaborative departmental portals, as well as several public websites.

 

Cross project operational functions are managed using MS Team Foundation Services, Service-Now and Touch Paper help desk software, Projector Time management, and MS Project.   We participate in C&W’s global help desk to support our users around the clock.   My team is also at the forefront for virtualizing many of our applications using VMWare and are eyeing MS Azure for future projects.

CGS - Senior developer of an n-tier client/server C#.Net/MS SQL application used for order processing.  I was involved from its architectural design through deployment.  The system provides the ability to perform all tasks related to the sale of Broadway Theater tickets, hotel and dinner reservations, and miscellaneous tourist activities to the NY City Hotel Industry.  It is used by hotel concierges, guests, and a call center.

 

Globicus.com – Helped revive a large Coldfusion/MS SQL Server based website for a dotcom targeted to economists, strategists and stock analysts. The website generates thousands of graphs of economic indicators using EcoWin. One of the original founders of the site was the Nobel Prize winning economist, Robert Mundell.

Ness (formerly Blueflame & PCSI) is a project oriented consulting firm specializing in internet and database development.
